Lutz Fügener began his studies at the Technical University Dresden, where he completed the equivalent of an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then transferred to the Hochschule für Kunst und Design (art and design academy) Burg Giebichenstein, in Halle/Saale, Germany, where he obtained a degree in Industrial Design in 1995. Upon graduation, he immediately became junior partner of Fisch & Vogel Design in Berlin. Since then, the firm (today “studioFT”) has increasingly specialised in transportation design. Two years after joining the firm, Lutz Fügener became senior partner and co-owner. Since 2000, he is Chair of the bachelor’s programme in Transportation Design and is a member of the board of governors of the Hochschule Pforzheim.
