Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen has launched the Social Design Action since 2018, with the aim of focusing on the current designs in China, contributing to the evolution of global design, and building a dialogue platform for global design featuring diversity, coexistence, exchange, and integration. The event, Continuously uniting designers, design initiatives, and creative ideas, plans to inspire more people to solve problems with design thinking, so as to drive social innovation and facilitate social development with the power of design.

In 2024, the Social Design Action initiated by Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen ushers in its sixth year, during whichCO-Blossoming Society—Social Design Exhibition 2024will be launched in Chengdu Tianfu Design Industrial Park on July 13th and will last until September 21st.

The exhibition features over 60 outstanding design works from more than 20 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, South America, and North America, which constitute four chapters of "Diverse Individuals","Dual Environment", "One Society", and "Social Design Alliance". The works span many fields such as urban planning, public art, educational innovation, environmental protection, health care, and rural revitalization, in which the works in biotechnology and regenerative environmental protection stand out, jointly demonstrating the concept of sustainable living contained in this year's theme of "CO-Blossoming Society".

The exhibition presents the original intentions held by "social designers" in a broad sense such as designers, artists, architects, and scholars, exploring ways for more harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, and within society, and catalyzing design initiatives inspired by social issues. It invites the audience to immerse in the diverse living conditions of various communities, to confront the intricate societal challenges, and to recognize the potential of design to foster environmental sustainability, cultural diversity, and community harmony. The ideas presented in the exhibition will take root in our minds like seeds, sprouting into a perennial source of hope.
